Unified WBO and IBF middleweight champion Janibek Alimkhanuly spoke about a possible future fight against the undisputed super middleweight world champion Terence Crawford.
– What do you think about a potential megafight with Terence Crawford, if you win against Lara?
– It would be a very good fight. And I’ll be ready for it, because it’s a big fight, and I think everyone will be watching.
– How much does it motivate you that Terence Crawford has already mentioned you ahead of this fight?
– My main motivation is to win all four championship belts — that’s what I’m working toward. But the possibility of facing Crawford is a huge push and even bigger motivation.
The fight between Janibek Alimkhanuly (17-0, 12 KOs) and Erislandy Lara will take place on December 6 in San Antonio, Texas, USA. On the line will be the WBA, WBO and IBF world titles in the middleweight division (160 lbs). Earlier, Terence Crawford (42-0, 31 KOs) said he would be watching the outcome closely.
