In an interview with Boxing King Media, British trainer Tunde Ajayi commented on super heavyweight boxer Derek Chisora's (34-13, 23 KOs) statement, suggesting that the holder of the WBO, WBA, IBO, and IBF titles, Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs), would defeat WBC champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) in the fight for the undisputed world heavyweight champion title because he would target the cut.
"No, no, no. Derek's clickbaiting. That's my little nephew [laughs]. Sometimes you don't have to take Derek Chisora's words seriously. No! Listen, as soon as the Gypsy King and his family start applying medicine, then it only takes one or two weeks for everything to heal. The fact is, you can't look at it from a boxing perspective and think that because Tyson Fury got a cut, Usyk now has a big advantage. Hold on! Did Tyson Fury have a cut before fighting Wilder? He did have a cut! And Wilder couldn't do anything about it.
Tyson is a fighter, and these things happen. Fighters' faces are doomed to take hits but also to recover quickly. Sometimes these cuts heal very fast. As long as he's in good physical and psychological shape, everything will be fine. Tyson Fury will put on a show!" said Ajayi.
It's worth noting that the fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed world heavyweight champion title was moved from February 17 to May 18 and will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
