An AI Referee to Be Used in Usyk-Fury Rematch

Turki Alalshikh, the head of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, has revealed that the rematch between unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) and Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) will feature, for the first time in boxing history, a referee powered by artificial intelligence.

"For the first time ever, an AI-driven referee will oversee the fight, free from bias and errors, presented by The Ring.

This revolutionary experiment, which will not affect the official results, will make its debut during the greatest fight of the century—the Usyk-Fury rematch on December 21. Don’t miss this moment, as history is being made," Turki wrote.

The bout between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury is set for December 21 at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In their first encounter, the Ukrainian champion earned a split-decision victory, becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999.
