Age vs Youth: 54-Year-Old Roy Jones Jr. Eyes Ring Return Vs Tommy Fury

Roy Jones Jr., aged 54, recently discussed a potential fight with 24-year-old Tommy Fury. Jones said:

"It's real. We talked in Saudi Arabia, with John Fury, Tyson's father, nearby. I've known the Fury family for a long time. Years ago, I told Tyson he could make a comeback and win, and he did. Fighting someone from the social media era interests me. I'm not as young as I once was, but facing a YouTuber is different. It's intriguing for fans. We're looking at early next year for the fight. Tommy's a solid boxer from a fighting family.

If we fight, I'll be 55. It's an exciting matchup because of my age. My mind is willing, but my body isn't, so I must be smarter. This fight could draw more viewers than my fight with Mike Tyson because of Tommy's social media following. A battle with Jake Paul could happen, too."

Jones' last fight was in spring 2023, losing to Anthony Pettis. Tommy Fury's previous win was against blogger KSI. John Fury, father of Tyson and Tommy, has also spoken about this fight.
