Adames Calls Out Berlanga

In an interview with BoxingScene, the "interim" WBC middleweight champion (up to 72,5 kg) Carlos Adames (23-1, 18 KOs) expressed his desire to move up in weight and face Edgar Berlanga (22-0, 17 KOs).

"At the end of the day, we're fighters, and if we want a fight to happen, we just need to agree on it, and it's up to the promoters to make it happen.

I feel that our fight with Berlanga is one of the best matchups that can be made. We both have power, and fans would love to see a Dominican-Puerto Rican showdown. I'm ready to fight him in Puerto Rico, on his home ground, in front of all his compatriots. It would be a fantastic summer fight.

Berlanga, let's do this and find out who has the real power," said Adames.

Carlos Adames last entered the ring in June of the previous year, defeating Julian Williams (29-4-1, 17 KOs) by technical knockout.

Edgar Berlanga knocked out Padraig McCrory (18-1, 9 KOs) in the 6th round in February.
