On February 1, at Wembley Stadium in London, UK, rising British star Adam Azim (13-0, 10 KOs) faced Sergey Lipinets (18-4-1, 13 KOs) for the vacant IBO super lightweight title (140 lbs / 63.5 kg).
Azim secured a dominant stoppage victory—dropping Lipinets in round three before finishing him off in round nine. After absorbing a series of unanswered punches, the referee stepped in to halt the bout, awarding Azim a TKO win.
This marks Azim’s fourth consecutive knockout victory, while Lipinets suffers his third loss in his last five fights.
In October, Azim knocked out Ohara Davies in round eight. In May, Lipinets defeated Robbie Davies Jr. via unanimous decision.
