59-Year-Old Former Lewis Opponent Returns to Boxing with Knockout Victory

On November 19 in Nashville, USA, 59-year-old American heavyweight boxer Oliver McCall (60-14, 39 KOs) made a triumphant return to the professional ring after a five-year hiatus.

McCall faced 54-year-old compatriot Stacy Frazier (16-23, 15 KOs) and secured a knockout victory in the second round.

Oliver McCall is renowned for handing former undisputed world champion Lennox Lewis his first career defeat in September 1994, unexpectedly knocking out the Briton in the second round to claim the WBC title. In February 1997, Lewis avenged this loss by defeating McCall via technical knockout in the fifth round.

McCall remained active in boxing until 2014. Subsequent years saw significant gaps in his career, with ring appearances in 2018, 2019, and now in 2024.
