On the night of July 21 in Tampa, USA, blogger and boxer Jake Paul (10-1, 7 KOs) defeated former UFC fighter Mike Perry (0-2) by technical knockout in the 6th round.
So, who will be Jake's next opponent?
Mike Tyson
A fight against former undisputed champion Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs) is scheduled for November 15. Initially, Paul was supposed to fight "Iron Mike" instead of Perry, but the show was postponed due to Tyson's ulcer flare-up.
After Jake's victory, Tyson started a countdown to their fight.
"118 days, 16 weeks and 6 days, 17 weekends, 2832 hours, 169920 minutes and 10195200 seconds. Countdown is on," Tyson wrote on Twitter.
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (54-6-1, 34 KOs) fought on the same card as Jake and defeated Uriah Hall (1-1, 0 KOs), marking the Mexican's first fight since December 2021.
After his victory, Chavez expressed interest in fighting Jake:
"Who would I like to fight next? I don't know, I don't care. Maybe Jake Paul. Yes, Jake. I'm a better fighter than his opponent. Definitely."
Alex Pereira
Jake himself also mentioned a desired opponent – current UFC champion Alex Pereira. Jake responded to Pereira's interest in boxing.
"Alex Pereira, you said you want to box, I'm here, the king. Come on, we can make it happen. I want you, Alex Pereira. I just beat the BKFC champion. I've beaten a few UFC champions. He said he wants to box. Pereira, let's do it after Mike Tyson," Paul said.
Jake also reiterated that his main goal in boxing is to become the cruiserweight (up to 90.7 kg) world champion. The current champions in this division are Jai Opetaia (IBF), Noel Gevor Mikaelian (WBC), Gilberto Ramirez (WBA), and Chris Billam-Smith (WBO). However, Paul is not yet close to any of the champions in the rankings of these organizations.
