How Much Heavier Was Berlanga Against Canelo?

According to ESPN journalist Salvador Rodriguez, Puerto Rican boxer Edgar Berlanga (22-1, 17 KOs) stepped into the ring against Mexican WBA, WBC, and WBO super middleweight champion Saúl Álvarez (62-2-2, 39 KOs) with a weight that exceeded the division limit by 11.5 kilograms.

At the weigh-in on Friday, Berlanga made weight at 76 kilograms, but by fight night, he had bulked up to 87.5 kilograms, essentially weighing in as a cruiserweight (up to 90.7 kg).

As a reminder, on the night of September 15, Canelo defeated Edgar Berlanga by unanimous decision, successfully defending his championship titles.
