De La Hoya: “The Ryan Garcia vs. Jake Paul fight is not happening”

Golden Boy Promotions founder and CEO Oscar De La Hoya has stated that welterweight boxer Ryan Garcia will not be fighting influencer and heavyweight boxer Jake Paul.

“Let me explain why this fight won’t happen. Ryan Garcia fights on DAZN, and Jake Paul is on Netflix. Golden Boy has a contract with DAZN, and Ryan Garcia has a contract with Golden Boy,” — said De La Hoya.

As a reminder, Jake Paul (12-1, 7 KO) is scheduled for an exhibition bout on November 14 against Gervonta Davis (30-0-1, 28 KO). However, due to Davis’s latest legal issues, the fight is now in doubt.

Ryan Garcia (24-2, 20 KO) was considered one of the potential replacement options for Paul.
