Renowned American boxing trainer Teddy Atlas shared his opinion on a potential showdown between British Heavyweights Anthony Joshua and Moses Itauma.
“I think Itauma probably knocks Joshua out. I don’t want to take anything away from Joshua: he’s got a dangerous right hand, he can punch accurately, he’s big, experienced — all of that is true. Maybe right now Joshua is desperate to win, to get back what he’s lost: status, pride, and so on.
I understand that could make him dangerous in certain moments. I recognize all of that — it’s my job as a trainer. But I think the short answer is: yes, Itauma is ready for him, and even for more,” Atlas said.
Recently, Frank Warren confirmed that Itauma will fight on December 13 against a top-10 ranked opponent.
On August 16, 20-year-old Moses Itauma (13-0, 11 KOs) scored a first-round TKO over Dillian Whyte.
Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) last fought in September 2024 against Daniel Dubois, suffering a knockout defeat in the fifth round.
