Arslanbek Makhmudov Defeats David Allen

On October 11 at Sheffield Arena in Sheffield, United Kingdom, a heavyweight bout (over 90.7 kg) took place between David Allen (24-8-2, 19 KOs) and Arslanbek Makhmudov (21-2, 19 KOs) for the WBA Inter-Continental title.

The fight went the full 12 rounds and ended with Makhmudov winning by unanimous decision. The judges scored it 115–111, 116–110, and 117–109 in favor of the Russian fighter. Makhmudov had one point deducted in rounds 7 and 12 for repeated holding.

In May, Allen won his rematch against Johnny Fisher by fifth-round TKO, while in June, Makhmudov stopped Ricardo Brown by first-round TKO.
