Andre Ward could replace Gervonta in the fight with Jake — insider

It is expected that WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis will be removed from the scheduled bout against influencer and heavyweight boxer Jake Paul, according to The Ring insider Mike Coppinger.

Now Jake is being matched with a new opponent, and the event is planned to be moved to a new date — December 12 or December 19.

According to sources, promoters have reached out to Andre Ward to check his availability. In addition, Nate Diaz and Francis Ngannou are also being considered as potential replacements.

Originally, Jake Paul (12-1, 7 KO) was scheduled to face Gervonta Davis (30-0-1, 28 KO) on November 14, but the fight is now in jeopardy due to Davis’ latest legal issues — he is accused of assault and kidnapping involving his former girlfriend.
