WBA Super Welterweight Champion Terence Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) spoke about his upcoming fight against Undisputed Super Middleweight Champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (63-2-2, 39 KOs).
At a press conference dedicated to the highly anticipated bout, Crawford explained why facing Canelo holds a special meaning for him.
“I’m challenging Canelo because, like I’ve said before, he’s the last great fighter of that era. The era of Floyd, Pacquiao, De La Hoya. We grew up watching those fights, and he was part of that generation of legends.
He got the chance to step in the ring with Miguel Cotto, Floyd Mayweather, Kovalev, Golovkin… I didn’t get those mega fights.
So, for me, this is a megafight. This is my moment. That’s why I want to face a historic fighter like Canelo,” said Crawford.
Earlier, Turki Alalshikh announced new features that will be implemented for the fight.
The showdown between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford for the undisputed super middleweight championship will take place on September 13 in Las Vegas, USA, and will be streamed on Netflix.
