Fury Reveals Why Fight with Mike Tyson Didn’t Happen

British heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) shared that he was in negotiations for an exhibition match against former undisputed champion Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs).

There was talk about it. His people reached out to me. Mike and I had a phone conversation. Everything seemed real, but nothing came of it. Those who were offering money for Mike's return were offering us peanuts.

Mike was talking about a figure of $500 million, but the offer we received was just a joke. It was madness. I had a $10 million offer from ESPN for an exhibition fight, but I think everyone is moving on now.

I would have loved to step in the ring with him and move around a bit. But if he won, people would say I’m useless because I lost to a 53-year-old man. If I beat him, then I’d be the bully. It was a losing situation for me. I had no need to fight a guy who’s no longer in his prime,” Fury explained in an interview with IFL TV.

On November 15, Mike Tyson will step into the ring against YouTuber and boxer Jake Paul (10-1, 7 KOs). On December 21, Tyson Fury will have a rematch against WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs).
