In the early hours of November 9, Norfolk, USA, will host a lightweight bout (up to 61.2 kg) between local prospect Keyshawn Davis (11-0, 7 KOs) and Argentine Gustavo Lemos (29-1, 19 KOs).
At the official weigh-in preceding the fight, the scales read:
– Keyshawn Davis: 60.9 kg
– Gustavo Lemos: 64.1 kg
Lemos exceeded the weight limit by nearly 3 kilograms. Despite this, Davis remains eager to proceed with the bout.
"I'm glad I'll be earning even more money now. The show must go on," Davis remarked.
Keyshawn Davis holds the 3rd position in the WBC, WBO, and IBF rankings. Gustavo Lemos is ranked 9th by the WBC, 13th by the WBO, and 6th by the IBF. The current champions of these organizations are Shakur Stevenson, Denys Berinchyk, and Vasyl Lomachenko, respectively.
