    Detailed Fight Review

Styles and Techniques of the Opponents

  • Stylistically, this is a brilliant fight — and even somewhat underrated in that regard. An aggressive Bohachuk, with his trademark wall of punches that smothers opponents, faces off against a towering, long-limbed, and mobile rival.

Catching Fox is no easy task. He has solid upper-body defense and excellent footwork. Bohachuk will need to drag him into his kind of fight, because trying to outwork the American from long range won’t be easy.

  • Age and Experience Difference

  • These two are almost the same age — Bohachuk, at 30, is just a year older. But the average level of opposition he's faced is clearly higher. And just as important — his performances against those opponents have been significantly more convincing.

Bohachuk has beaten the tricky and quick Ishmael Davis, came close to defeating Vergil Ortiz Jr., and decisively handled Brian Mendoza.

That said, Fox has his own résumé. Names like Egidijus Kavaliauskas and Gabriel Maestre are solid. The problem is, Mykal came up short in both those fights.

  • Punch Statistics in Recent Fights

  • Fox is a fairly high-output fighter. In his bout against Maestre, the American averaged no fewer than 40 punches per round, and his activity stayed consistent until the final bell.

But for Bohachuk, that’s nothing out of the ordinary. Serhii regularly throws 60 to even 70 punches per round. Even against a mobile opponent like Davis, that volume didn’t drop — nor did it against a power-puncher like Ortiz Jr.

  • Fighting Activity

  • A massive advantage for Bohachuk. In 2024, he beat both Mendoza and Davis, and had a thrilling battle with Ortiz Jr. That’s two 12-rounders and a dominant six-round win over Ishmael.

In contrast, Fox’s two decision wins over mid-level opponents don’t exactly impress. He’s also logged significantly fewer rounds — just six and eight.

  • Punching Power

  • Bohachuk isn’t a one-punch knockout artist — but he hits hard and breaks opponents down with volume and persistence. He overwhelms rather than flattens. His opponents simply can’t absorb that much punishment.

Against this backdrop, Fox’s 5 stoppage wins in 24 fights stand out — and not in a good way. To stop Bohachuk, it’s not just about timing — it’s about delivering real power. And it’s unclear whether the American has that in his arsenal.

  • Ability to Absorb Hits

  • Bohachuk has been dropped before — but that was a while ago. Since then, he’s changed trainers, adjusted his style, and took everything Ortiz Jr. had to offer — a guy nobody enjoys getting hit by. He also navigated Mendoza and Davis cleanly, both of whom are dangerous punchers.

Fox has never been stopped. But he also hasn’t faced anything close to the relentless offensive pace that Bohachuk brings.

  • Fight Venue

  • Yes, it’s a Ukrainian fighting an American in the USA — but Fox has no home advantage here. Bohachuk is at home in America, both literally and professionally. He’s the star, the favorite, the name on the marquee. It’s Fox who will need to convince the crowd and the judges that he’s winning the close rounds.

  • Psychology and Recent Successes

  • This fight looks like a stepping stone for Bohachuk. Not the opponent he wanted, but an intriguing stylistic challenge. Serhii wants a title, wants bigger names — that’s why he picked Fox, who resembles Sebastian Fundora, a fighter the Ukrainian is openly targeting.

For Fox, this is a massive opportunity. But does he have the tools to win? Technically, the American is solid. But to stop Bohachuk’s endless pressure, physical strength and the ability to land meaningful punches are essential. And right now, it seems like great defense alone won’t be enough for Mykal in this one.
