Wilder Reacts to Usyk Fight Talk for the First Time: “That would be amazing”

Former Heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder has commented for the first time on the desire of WBA, WBC and IBF Heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk to fight him.

“I think it would be amazing if that happened. Because you know how boxing is — it’s like a diagram. One minute everything is good, then everything is bad. It may seem like everything’s come together and then it all falls apart, like dropping through a hole in the floor. So of course you can’t believe it until we sign contracts and until things start moving in that direction.

But just the thought of it excites me. I would love to get that opportunity. I’ve always said I was never given an opportunity for different reasons. But I’ve always been the one who gives people opportunities rather than being the one given an opportunity. You know what I mean?
