The World Boxing Council (WBC) has stripped Terence Crawford of its Super Middleweight championship title. According to reports, the reason is that Crawford did not pay the sanctioning fees for his bouts.
Now Hamzah Sheeraz and Christian Mbilli are set to fight for the vacant title. This was announced at the 63rd WBC Congress being held in Thailand.
As a reminder, Crawford became the undisputed Super Middleweight champion after defeating Saul Alvarez by decision. To do so, he moved up two weight classes. A rematch between Terence and Saul had been expected as a possibility for 2026.
