The World Boxing Association (WBA) has ordered its Regular Heavyweight Champion Kubrat Pulev to make a mandatory title defense against 20-year-old British prospect Moses Itauma, who currently holds the No. 1 spot in the division’s rankings.
The teams have 30 days to reach an agreement. If they fail to do so, the WBA will schedule a purse bid to determine promotional rights.
Itauma (13-0, 11 KOs) scored a first-round knockout over Dillian Whyte in his previous fight. Pulev (32-3, 13 KOs) hasn’t fought since December 2024, when he captured the title by defeating Mahmoud Charr.
