According to boxing insider Salvador Rodriguez, the status of reigning WBA Lightweight champion Gervonta Davis could be reconsidered by the Association.
The reason is the recently announced fight against Heavyweight Jake Paul, scheduled for November 14 in Atlanta, USA, and Davis’ effective refusal to face Lamont Roach. The WBA had ordered a rematch with Roach in August, but the fight was postponed due to Davis’ legal troubles.
The WBA now plans to review its next steps, which could include stripping Gervonta of his championship status.
