“We’ve Compiled All of Dubois’ Mistakes”: Usyk’s Camp Preps a Next-Level Rematch

Team director for undisputed Heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KO) and Ready to Fight CEO Sergey Lapin has detailed the meticulous build-up to the upcoming bout with IBF titleholder Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KO).

According to Usyk’s camp, every fight is far more than physical rounds in the ring—it’s hundreds of hours dissecting an opponent. Lapin explained how they break down Dubois’s style, produce bespoke analytical videos, and turn those insights into drills. Usyk, he says, is approaching the rematch on a completely fresh script—even changing training-camp locations to avoid stagnation.

Once we have the information, we put it straight into training. The very next session after an analysis video is always inspiring—Oleksandr looks sensational.

I’ve made a special video for this camp that bundles every mistake Daniel has made—fights before and the first fight with Usyk. It also shows Usyk’s own errors, now fixed.

The clips come from five or six of Dubois’s bouts, and roughly ten different people pore over the material so we can break down every aspect of his style—his footwork, his punches, everything. It’s obvious Usyk will beat him again on 19 July.”

Lapin added that the squad runs “analytical sessions”—sometimes with the boxer present, sometimes not—to strip everything to the bone:

“That’s one reason Usyk will outdo Dubois again. We’ve also chosen a brand-new camp location. We like change, we like perfecting preparation. We upgrade every day.

It’s like people switching to a newer iPhone model—the same with Usyk’s camp. We raise the bar each time: new drills, new setting, everything refreshed. That’s why Usyk will be even better in the rematch.”

Usyk and Dubois meet for the undisputed heavyweight crown on 19 July at Wembley Stadium in London, UK.
