Usyk Reveals Two Musical Instruments He Wants to Learn

Ukrainian WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion and co-founder of Ready to Fight, Oleksandr Usyk, shared some of his interests outside of sports.

– I’m really passionate about things outside of sports—like music and poetry. How did it happen that someone who’s had to dedicate so many years to sports still found time to write poetry, read literature, and engage with music?

– It helps me grow. It helps me in boxing, business, and my family. I read a lot of literature, I write poetry. Right now, I want to learn to play the guitar and drums. But I need time to do that.

– Do you have plans to publish a collection of poetry after your career?

– Maybe that will happen. We are working in that direction. We’ll do it so people can see what I write, Usyk said.

Usyk's next fight is expected to take place in December—a rematch against Tyson Fury. In an exclusive comment for RTFight, Usyk also shared what Fury would lose if he backs out of the rematch.
