Trainer Martin Bakole: “We want to fight Itauma”

Billy Nelson, trainer of Congolese heavyweight Martin Bakole, shared his thoughts on a possible fight between his fighter and British prospect Moses Itauma.

“We want to fight Itauma. No problem. His name was mentioned back in August, but there was never an actual offer, and then he fought Dillian Whyte.

We made it clear that we’re ready to face him. We were sent an offer, we responded with a counter-offer. We haven’t heard anything since,” Nelson said.

In May Martin Bakole (21-2-1, 16 KOs) fought Efe Ajagba, with the bout ending in a draw.

Moses Itauma (13-0, 11 KOs) was scheduled to face Jermaine Franklin on 24 January, but the entire show was moved to 28 March due to an injury to Moses.
