Teofimo Lopez Defeats Arnold Barboza by Judges’ Decision

On May 2, a super lightweight (140 lbs / 63.5 kg) clash took place in Times Square, New York, USA, between reigning WBO champion Teofimo Lopez (22-1, 13 KOs) and the previously undefeated Arnold Barboza (32-1, 11 KOs).

The bout went the full 12 rounds and ended with a unanimous decision victory for Teofimo Lopez. The judges scored it 116–112 twice and 118–110 — all in favor of the defending champion.

This marks Lopez’s sixth consecutive win. Meanwhile, it was the first professional loss in Arnold Barboza’s career.
