Teofimo Confirms Ennis Fight Will Happen

WBO super lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez (22-1, 13 KOs) has confirmed that a fight against IBF and WBA welterweight titleholder Jaron Ennis (34-0, 30 KOs) is in the works. Lopez’s statement follows earlier reports from promoter Eddie Hearn, who revealed that negotiations had begun.

“I just wanted to let everyone know — it’s happening. This fight is happening. The king of the welterweight division — we’re coming for him,” said Lopez.

Previously, Turki Alalshikh also noted that talks were already underway for the high-profile matchup.
