WBC Lightweight Champion Shakur Stevenson has made it clear that he doesn’t plan to take any tune-up fights if he moves up to Super Lightweight — he wants to go straight after the champion.
“I’m gonna beat that guy at 140, take the Ring Magazine belt, and laugh at everyone who doubted me.
No tune-ups, no fights to get used to the weight — just big balls and big dreams,” Stevenson wrote.
Shakur Stevenson (24-0, 11 KOs) and Teofimo Lopez (22-1, 13 KOs) have discussed a potential fight several times before. Recently, Lopez publicly promised to knock Stevenson out.
