Ryan Compared Floyd and Shakur: "I Don’t Understand It"

American fighter Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) addressed WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson (22-0, 10 KOs) and compared him to former world champion Floyd Mayweather. This came in response to Shakur’s statement that top fighters are avoiding him.

"You’re Shakur 'Twitterson.' You’re nobody. You’re just a guy who boxes. You’re not that good.

He’s good, but he’s not great. A great fighter can attack and defend. You, Shakur, can only defend.

Mayweather didn’t just defend. He attacked and defended. You, Shakur, only defend, and somehow you still win. I don’t understand it," said Garcia.

Shakur's next fight is set for October 12 in Saudi Arabia against Britain's Joe Cordina (17-1, 9 KOs).
