Former World Champion Ricky Hatton Dies at 46

Former world boxing champion Ricky Hatton was found dead on the morning of September 14 at his home in Manchester.

Police confirmed the discovery of the body and stated that the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Officers received a call from a member of the public at 6:45 a.m. today to Bowlec Road, Hyde, Tameside, where they discovered the body of a 46-year-old man. At this time, the circumstances of the death are not believed to be suspicious,” a police spokesperson said.

The tragic news comes just months after the 46-year-old Brit announced his planned return to the ring, with a fight scheduled for December.

Ricky Hatton was a former WBA, IBF, and IBO Super Lightweight champion, as well as WBA and IBO Welterweight titleholder.

Over the course of his career, Hatton fought 48 times, earning 45 victories (32 by knockout) and suffering 3 defeats.
