Lawrence Okolie: “Wardley Is a Much Easier Opponent Than Usyk”

Former world champion Lawrence Okolie shared his thoughts on a possible fight with WBO Heavyweight titleholder Fabio Wardley.

“Oleksandr Usyk didn't want to fight Fabio Wardley for some reason, so that is why he became the champion. I think he deserved it, and that is the fight I want next, if I win this one.

I believe that the most direct path to a world title is Fabio, because right now he is a world champion. This is a fight that will be discussed behind the scenes, but I really want exactly this. I think Fabio is a much easier opponent than Usyk,” said Okolie.

Lawrence Okolie (22-1, 16 KOs) will have his next bout on December 19 in Lagos, Nigeria. The Briton’s opponent is not yet confirmed.
