Nokes Defeats Mendy

On April 20th at York Hall in London, England, in the main event of the evening, British knockout artist Sam Nokes (14-0, 13 KOs) faced the 38-year-old French veteran Ivan Mendy (48-7-1, 22 KOs). The fight was for the vacant European Lightweight Championship belt under the EBU (up to 61.2 kg). Nokes won by unanimous decision with all three judges scoring it 120-108.

This was the first time Sam Nokes did not knockout his opponent and went the full distance. Previously, in February, the Brit won by technical knockout against Lewis Silvestre (13-1, 4 KOs). For Ivan Mendy, this was his second defeat in the last three bouts.
