Keyshawn Davis: “I’ll knock out Gervonta”

Former world champion Keyshawn Davis shared his thoughts on a potential fight against WBA lightweight titleholder Gervonta Davis.

“I’m the last person on Tank’s list. I’ve got a worse mentality than him, and he knows it. What people don’t realize is that I sparred Tank when I was 16 years old, and we were about to fight outside of the ring. Tank already knows what kind of mentality I’m coming with. I’ve got that same edge he has, but mine is a little bit worse. Honestly.

I really think I’m the last person on Tank’s list. And if he sends me a contract, honestly, in my honest opinion, I think I will knock Tank out. He’s too small. I can really punch, and I’m smart, bro,” Keyshawn said.

On 31 January, Keyshawn Davis (13-0, 9 KOs) will face Jamaine Ortiz. The last time Keyshawn stepped into the ring was in February, when he knocked out Denys Berinchyk in the fourth round to win the WBO lightweight world title.

In June, Davis was supposed to make his first title defense against Edwin De Los Santos, but he failed to make weight, the fight was cancelled and he was stripped of his belt.

Gervonta Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs) has not fought since his draw with Lamont Roach in March. In November he was scheduled to face Jake Paul, but the fight fell through after Gervonta was accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend.
