Undisputed Junior Welterweight world champion Katie Taylor says she is open to a boxing match with former UFC champion Ronda Rousey. The bout could take place in 2026.
“Rousey is an iconic figure in women’s sport in her own right. It’s a very interesting fight. I saw all the headlines this morning and thought, ‘OK, I’m up for that fight.’
It’s a fight that will interest fans, and that’s exactly what boxing needs. I would be very, very happy to fight Ronda. I’m open to these kinds of fights where generations can sit down and watch boxing. I’m very, very open to fighting Ronda Rousey.
A boxer’s career is very, very short. We all want to make as much money as possible, build our legacy, and be involved in these big fights, while also trying to maintain the integrity of the sport. At the end of the day, I have to do what’s right for me and my family,” said Taylor.
Netflix is being mentioned as the likely broadcaster for such a show. The fight is tentatively being eyed for the summer of 2026.
