Australian heavyweight Justis Huni has explained why he sees Oleksandr Usyk as the clear favorite in his upcoming rematch against Daniel Dubois.
- Every time Dubois steps into the ring, he keeps getting better and better. But I love the way Usyk fights — his boxing IQ. He knows his way around the ring. He’ll be too smart and too slick for Dubois.
- Is this Daniel’s best shot at beating Usyk?
- 100 percent, he’s got to land something big. Like I said, he’s getting better with every fight — we’re seeing that in his performances. He’s knocking out top guys. He’s proving himself.
- How would you approach the fight if you were in Dubois’ shoes? Would you raise the tempo like you usually do?
- If he could maintain that kind of tempo across all rounds, he’d be in a good place. But it’s hard, because Usyk’s so smart. I’m just not sure. I’d pick Oleksandr to win this one. I don’t think it’ll be a knockout — probably a decision.
- If Usyk wins, where do you rank him among the all-time greats?
- He’s definitely one of the greats. To move through weight classes, win and unify titles — you’ve got to be something special to do that, said Huni.
