Jesse Rodriguez on Nakatani and Inoue: “Those Are the Fights I Want”

Unified WBO and WBC super flyweight champion Jesse Rodriguez revealed that his team was close to finalizing a fight with former world champion Junto Nakatani.

“My next fight was supposed to be Nakatani. It was already being worked on.

I’m ready to fight anyone, anytime. But sometimes things just don’t go the way you plan. So now I’ll be fighting Martínez instead.

But there are two fights I definitely want in my career – Nakatani and Inoue.

I’ve got plenty of time, I’m still young, and I want those fights to happen,” Rodriguez said.

The 25-year-old Jesse Rodriguez (22-0, 15 KOs) will return on November 22 against Fernando Martínez, with the WBO, WBC, and now also the WBA super flyweight title at stake.

Meanwhile, the next fight for Junto Nakatani (31-0, 24 KOs) is scheduled for December 27, where he will face Sebastián Reyes.
