Gervonta Davis Explains Choosing Jake Paul Over Roach Rematch

WBA Lightweight champion Gervonta Davis has responded to criticism from fans over his decision to face Jake Paul instead of pursuing a rematch with Lamont Roach, with whom Davis fought to a draw in March.

“Why should I stress? Why should I care what they think, when you all flip-flop? Somebody can have a bad day and you’re already changing your favorite fighter or deciding who he should fight.

You just need to sit back, be fans, and enjoy the sport. You’re even discussing people’s personal lives. So what?” said Davis.

The fight between Gervonta Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs) and Jake Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) is scheduled for November 14 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, USA.

It was previously confirmed that the bout will be an exhibition, with other conditions of the matchup also revealed.
