“F* Golden Boy”: Ryan Garcia and De La Hoya Go to War in Public

American Welterweight boxer Ryan Garcia (24-2, 20 KO) and Golden Boy Promotions boss Oscar De La Hoya have traded a blistering round of insults on social media. Garcia once again blasted his promoter, while De La Hoya fired back, citing serious health concerns for his fighter.

Garcia wrote:

“F*** Golden Boy Promotions. I know why Oscar’s a b**** to people—that’s a fact.

Can’t wait to get away from that fake b****. I’ll tear everybody up and keep winning, just like I did against all his damn fighters.”

De La Hoya replied:

“Unfortunately, Ryan Garcia is having another episode. Ten days ago he was talking about God and finding his path, and tonight he sends me this while watching his Golden Boy teammates win. Bipolar disorder is very serious, and I hope he gets the help he needs.”

The promoter also posted a text he says came from Garcia:

“First of all, f*** you—especially for sticking me with that shitty contract just because I lost, when I’m your only real star right now.

You can suck it, and I know you already do. So f*** you. Kiss my ass. I’ll smash Rolly, anybody. Can’t wait to go against you again like I did with Duarte, just to see your dumb face—still dumb. F*** you and your stupid offer, b****. I’ll beat the crap out of you the same way Canelo and Berlanga did.”

Garcia later shared one of De La Hoya’s videos and added:

“This, by the way, is a grown man—and it’s shameful for a promoter. I really hope he gets the help he needs. People look up to him. I’ve put up with your crap for years. You’re a joke as a promoter and as a person. Get well, addict.”
