Founder and head of Queensberry Promotions Frank Warren stated that he doubts undisputed Heavyweight Champion Oleksandr Usyk will return to the ring in 2025.
“Usyk asked the WBO for a pause due to injury and provided the necessary proof, and that’s his position right now. Will he fight before the end of the year? I very much doubt it,” said Warren.
On July 19, Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) knocked out Daniel Dubois in the fifth round to become undisputed world champion for the third time.
In July, the WBO ordered Usyk to defend his title against interim champion Joseph Parker, but Usyk’s team requested to postpone the negotiation deadline due to a back injury.
