WBA Interim Heavyweight Champion Fabio Wardley spoke about the difference in experience between himself and his upcoming opponent, Joseph Parker.
“Parker won his first world title back in 2016 — at that time, I was still boxing in white-collar matches.
It’s kind of funny. I remember sitting in a pub with friends watching his fight against Joshua. Just watching — no thoughts, no plans like ‘Oh, I’ll be chasing you in a few years.’ I was simply a fan, a regular spectator. That’s when I first saw him.
But now, ten years later — here we are, me and him,” Wardley said.
White-collar boxing refers to amateur bouts between office workers — it’s how Wardley first entered the sport.
His upcoming clash with Parker, set for October 25 at the O2 Arena in London, marks a full-circle moment in his remarkable rise.
