Chris Eubank Jr Accuses Matchroom of Wrongdoing, Hearn Threatens Lawsuit

Chris Eubank Jr, IBO Middleweight champion, leveled serious accusations against Matchroom Boxing following his victory over Conor Benn.

Eubank Jr alleged that organizers deliberately created obstacles — from contract breaches and biased judging to blocking his ambulance after the fight.

They did everything possible to destroy me in that last fight: breach of contract, fines, rehydration clause, messed-up weigh-in, biased commentary and judging — the list goes on. Even on fight day, they kept my team outside for 30 minutes, and when I arrived, they put security in front of my car to make me late.

Finally, I get to the arena, start preparing, and they send idiots (Billy Joe Saunders) into my locker room to distract me.

We get through all that, and I win. After the fight, due to severe dehydration, I was taken by ambulance to the hospital. I was so dehydrated that I even lost a toenail. And those bastards blocked the ambulance for 20 minutes, not letting it leave the stadium. If it had been a serious injury, those 20 minutes could have been the difference between life and death,” said Eubank Jr.

Eddie Hearn, head of Matchroom, rejected the claims and warned he might sue unless Eubank apologizes.

On fight days, there is an official paramedics log that records absolutely everything. The British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) has this data. It’s all there in black and white.

He will either apologize or we’ll take him to court. I take this very personally. This is my life. Our reputation in boxing is impeccable, and this guy is making up crap that sounds absolutely terrible.

We didn’t work 40 years to build this business just for some clown to invent completely nonsensical crap. It’s laughable,” said Hearn.

The fight between Chris Eubank Jr (35-3, 25 KOs) and Conor Benn (23-1, 14 KOs) took place on April 26, with Eubank winning by unanimous decision. The rematch is scheduled for November 15 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
