Danny Garcia’s October 18 Bout Could Be His Last

Former world champion Danny Garcia has revealed that his upcoming fight against Daniel Gonzalez will “85 percent” likely be the final bout of his career.

“I’ve always loved boxing, and that’s why I’m taking this fight — for the sport, for the love of boxing, to give fans a victory and go out with a bang. That’s really it. That’s why I’m stepping into the ring on October 18 — for the love of the sport, not for any other reason.

This is my tenth fight at Barclays. I’ve headlined there more than anyone else, and I’m proud of that. The fans love me in Brooklyn. I’m expecting great support that night — my fans love me, and I know they’ll show up for my final fight,” Garcia said.

The fight between Danny Garcia (37-4, 21 KOs) and Daniel Gonzalez (22-4-1, 7 KOs) will take place on October 18 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, USA.
