Catterall Defeats Eubank by Technical Decision

On 5 July at Manchester Arena, Manchester, United Kingdom, Jack Catterall (31-2, 13 KO) faced Harlem Eubank (21-1, 9 KO) for the vacant WBA International and IBF Inter-Continental Welterweight titles (66.7 kg limit).

The contest ended early in round 6 when the fighters clashed heads and Catterall suffered a cut bad enough for the referee to halt the action. Because the bout had passed the halfway mark, it went to the score-cards: 69–65 and 69–66 twice, all for Catterall—TD-U 7 (technical decision, unanimous).

It is the first defeat of Harlem Eubank’s career. Catterall, meanwhile, rebounds from his February loss to Arnold Barboza.
