The WBA Interim Heavyweight Champion Fabio Wardley spoke about his sparring sessions with the three-time undisputed world champion Oleksandr Usyk.
– It was October 2018, about seven years ago. Back then I was still a newcomer, obviously still learning a lot in my craft. Sparring with him was great from an educational standpoint, but at the same time, I was literally bombarded with punches from all directions. He was brilliant then, and he’s brilliant now.
– What did you learn from him?
– There was a lot to take from that experience, but at that early stage of my career, the biggest lesson for me was how to structure not just a training camp, but a sparring week or day — how to prepare for and recover from sparring. What he did before and after the sessions. Those were the things I picked up from him at that stage, Wardley said.
Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) has revealed when his next fight will take place.
