Usyk on Dubois Knockout by Jab: “I Wasn’t Surprised”

Unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (23‑0, 14 KOs) and IBF title‑holder Daniel Dubois (22‑2, 21 KOs) sat down for a joint interview. The host raised the jab that stopped Dubois in round 9 of their first fight.

— After the first bout there was a lot of debate about that jab. Obviously Daniel didn’t beat the count. Were you surprised he couldn’t get up by ten?

— No. I wasn’t surprised—my jab was powerful, Usyk replied.

The host turned to Dubois.

— Was it a powerful jab?

— I don’t even want to talk about it. That’s in the past. I know what you’re doing—you’re doing your job. I’m just looking forward to Saturday so I can bring chaos to the ring. That’s my game and my priority, – Dubois said.
