Former undisputed heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis believes that two-time undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk would have had a chance in a hypothetical fight against a young Mike Tyson.
“I have immense respect for Usyk’s abilities. He’s proven he can outbox the best heavyweights of today.
But against a prime Tyson? That’s a different level. Tyson was phenomenal in his prime. You couldn’t just outbox him, you had to survive his onslaught, and very few managed that.
If anyone could frustrate Tyson and avoid his power punches, it would be Usyk. But it wouldn’t be easy,” Lewis stated.
Usyk’s next fight is set for December 21, where the Ukrainian will face Britain’s Tyson Fury for the second time.
