Teofimo Promises to Knock Out Shakur. Stevenson Says Lopez’s Time Is Over

WBO super lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez has promised to knock out WBC lightweight titleholder Shakur Stevenson:

“I’m gonna put you to sleep for all those times you put your fans to sleep with your performances.

Pathetic loser, I’ve got a new nickname for you — Mr. Sandman,” Lopez wrote.

Shakur fired back, reminding Teofimo of his knockout drought:

“You haven’t stopped anyone at 140, and now you think you’re gonna put me to sleep? Teofimo, your time is over — hope you enjoyed your run,” Stevenson replied.

A fight between Lopez (22-1, 13 KOs) and Stevenson (24-0, 11 KOs) has previously been discussed as a potential next matchup for both Americans.
