The World Boxing Organization (WBO) has cancelled the purse bids for the fight between super middleweights Hamzah Sheeraz (22-0-1, 18 KOs) and Diego Pacheco (25-0, 18 KOs). The vacant WBO title was set to be on the line.
This was announced by WBO President Gustavo Olivieri, who did not provide any additional explanations for the decision. The bidding was originally scheduled to take place on January 30.
This is not the first change to the schedule. Previously, the bids were set for January 19 but were postponed. The WBO belt is currently vacant after Terence Crawford announced his retirement and vacated his titles in the super middleweight division.
