“Best Versus Best.” Shakur Sets His Sights on Gervonta

American WBC Lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson (24-0, 11 KOs) says he wants a showdown with fellow countryman and WBA belt-holder Gervonta “Tank” Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs).

“I’ve already said who I want next—best versus best. My next fight should be Tank. I’ve told you: I’m a top-tier, elite-class fighter.

Let’s bring greatness back to boxing. Let’s put the best against the best in the ring,” Shakur said.

In the early hours of 13 July, Stevenson successfully defended his title against William Zepeda. After 12 rounds, the judges scored it 119-109 and 118-110 (twice) for the champion.
