American boxer Ryan Garcia explained why, in his view, Mexican former undisputed champion Saul Alvarez shouldn’t step into the ring again.
“Why not retire? Canelo has made all the money. He’s done everything he could, became undisputed. What’s the point of fighting on? I don’t see it — but if you love the sport and you want to keep going, do it,” said Garcia.
Alvarez is 35. In his previous fight, he lost a decision to Terence Crawford, who jumped up two weight classes and took his undisputed status.
There have also been reports that a second fight between Crawford and Alvarez could be possible in 2026.
