36-year-old former Heavyweight world champion Andy Ruiz has revealed that he spoke with undisputed Heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk regarding a potential fight.
“I feel like everyone wants to fight Usyk right now. Usyk is the one who has all the belts. Usyk is the name. And Usyk is the money. It’s a fight that interests me as well.
I think it was a few weeks ago when I wrote to Usyk. I think he actually messaged me first or something like that. I replied: ‘Much respect, brother. I would love to get in the ring with you. It would be an honor.’ And he responded: ‘When God’s time comes — we will do it. We’ll put on a show.’ And I was like: ‘Wow!’
Usyk, Tyson Fury, Joshua and Wilder — that’s the four (I’d want to fight). These are the big names,” Ruiz said.
Earlier, Andy Ruiz (35-2-1, 22 KOs) stated that he would like to have a third fight with Anthony Joshua.
Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) last fought in July, when he knocked out Daniel Dubois in the fifth round to retain his status as the undisputed world champion.
